Insurance & cost

Does insurance cover 7-OH treatment?

Almost always, yes. Here's the short version of how it works — and what to do if you don't have coverage at all.

Yes, most plans cover it

Federal parity law requires most insurance to cover substance-use treatment at the same level as medical care. That includes detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient.

In-network vs out-of-network

In-network is cheaper (your insurance has a contract with the facility). Out-of-network programs can still be partly covered — sometimes 50–80% — depending on your plan.

What you'll usually pay

Most people pay a deductible, then a percentage (coinsurance) up to an out-of-pocket maximum. Many plans cap your total exposure for the year once you hit that limit.

If you don't have insurance

Options exist: sliding-scale outpatient clinics, state-funded programs, payment plans, and (in some cases) scholarship beds. We can help you sort through them.

5 questions to ask your insurance

Or let us call for you — we do this every day.

  • Is detox and residential covered under my plan, and at what level?
  • What's my deductible, and how much have I already met this year?
  • What's my coinsurance and out-of-pocket maximum?
  • Do I need pre-authorization before checking in?
  • Which in-network programs do you recommend for substance-use treatment?
